The 43,560 Project: what one acre can do
There are 43,560 square feet in an acre, and at VSU's Randolph Farm, SFOP is using exactly one of them to show how productive and sustainable a small farm can be when best management practices are applied.
The demonstration plot brings together SFOP farm technicians, research faculty, Extension specialists, and students gaining hands-on experience. The project is also working toward GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) certification, to show that food safety certification is achievable for farms of any size.
