The USDA Agricultural Marketing Service’s National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) will hold its Fall 2026 meeting this October, and the public comment period is open now through October 1, 2026.
The NOSB meets twice a year in a public forum to discuss and vote on recommendations to the USDA that help the Department meet the needs of the organic industry. This fall’s meeting will be held entirely virtually:
- Online Comment Webinars (2 days): October 20 & 22, 2026, 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm Eastern Time
- Public Meeting (3 days): October 27–29, 2026, 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm Eastern Time
The Board is inviting both oral and written public comments on its Fall 2026 agenda topics. Registration for oral comment speaking slots is open through October 1, 2026, or until capacity is reached. Written comments can be submitted through Regulations.gov (docket number AMS-NOP-26-0892) through the same October 1 deadline.
Farmers and stakeholders interested in organic certification standards are encouraged to review the meeting materials and agenda on the Fall 2026 Meeting webpage and submit feedback on topics that affect their operations.
Key deadlines: Written comments and oral comment speaking slot requests must both be received by 11:59 pm ET on October 1, 2026.
Questions can be directed to NOSB@usda.gov.
