Led by Virginia Tech, the Alliance is supported by USDA’s Advancing Markets for Producers initiative.
The Incentives
- $100 Per Acre — The Alliance pilot offers $100 per acre or animal unit per year to farmers and ranchers who adopt one of these climate-smart practices: Nutrient Management, Grazing Management, Pasture and Hay Planting.
- Technical Assistance — Technical support is provided through partnerships with state soil and water conservation districts and industry experts to help with enrollment, practice adoption, and data collection.
- Market Opportunities — Through strategic partnerships, the Alliance connects enrolled producers with private market opportunities that can create additional revenue streams.
