2026 Currituck Planes and Plows

Currituck County Regional Airport (CCRA) and the Currituck Cooperative Extension Service are proud to announce the 2026 Planes and Plows Festival, taking place on Saturday, October 10, 2026. This year’s event, which runs from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, will be held at a new location situated between the existing Currituck Regional Airport and the newly constructed ECSU Currituck Aviation site at 264 Airport Rd.

The 2026 festival adopts the “America 250” theme, honoring the nation’s heritage through a unique blend of aviation and agricultural history. Attendees will experience a full day of high-flying excitement and rural tradition, featuring:

  • Spectacular Air Shows: enjoy high flying airplane acrobatics at multiple shows throughout the day.
  • The “Prop and Plow” Treat Trail: Replacing the traditional candy bomber, this new interactive experience invites youth to collect stamps and treats at designated aviation and tractor stations. Visitors are encouraged to wear costumes for a costume contest held at the end of the event.
  • Agriculture Olympics: A fan-favorite featuring competitive rural games and challenges.
  • Vendors & Static Displays: A wide array of antique tractors, agriculture equipment, local food vendors, artists, crafters, community resources and aircraft will be on display throughout the day.
  • Educational and Youth Activities: Interactive experiences include Passport activities, a petting zoo, and demonstrations from the College of the Albemarle featuring sheet metal and demo planes. The festival will also host a canning contest and a “People’s Choice Award” for children’s arts and crafts.

To accommodate the new location, public parking will be located in the grass lot at the end of Aviation Parkway in the Commerce Park. Shuttle services to the event entrance will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to follow directional signage to the new entry locations. Admission to the festival is free but registration is requested.
