The Transition to Organic Partnership Program (TOPP) is the new USDA initiative led by the National Organic Program that is investing $100 million over five years across the entire country to provide producers with education, technical assistance, and mentorship to support the transition to organic and grow the organic sector.

What’s happening right now?

  • Farmer To Farmer Mentoring – Farmers who are transitioning their operations to organic production will be paired with experienced certified organic farmers in their region. Mentors will be compensated to provide one-on-one support to the organic mentee farmer during transition. Mentor and mentee applications are available now!
  • Technical Assistance and Training– Field days, workshops and other events will be held across the region to provide education on agronomy, certification, regulations, and market and business support.

If you are interested in getting involved please submit an interest request form on the newly launched National TOPP website: https://www.organictransition.org/region/northeast-mid-atlantic/
