The Virginia Beginning Farmer and Rancher Coalition (VBFRC) management team announces the availability of mini-grant funds and request for proposals for programming opportunities that are aimed at supporting the goals and objectives of the VBFRC. The funding range for mini-grant proposals is capped at $3,000. The period of performance is no more than 12 months starting July 28, 2022. Only VBFR Coalition partner organizations (see page 6 of the RFP) recognized by the VBFRC management team as of time of the proposal are eligible to receive funding. Two funding categories are available:
- Innovation Projects: The goal of innovation projects is to provide initial support to those organizations and groups within the Coalition positioned to launch new efforts to assist beginning farmers and ranchers with educational opportunities in Virginia.
- Enhancement Projects: The goal of enhancement projects is to directly build upon existing Coalition partner plans of work/programming in supporting the next generation of farmers and ranchers with educational opportunities in Virginia.
