William Hale, All-Farm Organics
William Hale of All-Farm Organics will begin our session
sharing his experience in drying, cleaning, and storage of
grains. William brings 20 years of experience growing in the
Piedmont Region of Virginia where he specializes in producing
organic compost, corn and small grains. William has grown
and harvested a number of different cover crop seeds, from
clover to fava beans and currently grows dent corn, popcorn,
rye, barley and hulless oats. William continues to innovate,
looking to find more useful and profitable grains to supply
local consumers and ship to specialty markets.
Dr. Samuel McNeill, University of Kentucky
Dr. McNeill is an Extension Professor in the Biosystems and
Agricultural Engineering Department at the University of
Kentucky in Princeton, KY. His extension and research
program focuses on post‐harvest processing of grain and
biomass crops for food, feed, fiber, and fuel production and
he has experience working with the design, operation,
management, and energy utilization of grain handling, drying
and storage facilities. An active member of the American
Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers since 1979, he
is currently a member of the grain drying and storage,
biomass products, and textbooks and monographs
committees, and a member
