The Grow Your Own Food event is happening on April 25 from 9am-1pm. This year, the City of Newport News Parks and Recreation Department will give away trees to Newport News residents only, as they are working to restore the tree canopy. We will also give away seeds to all participants.
The City of Newport News is looking for farmers to participate in the Farmers’ Market and it is absolutely FREE for them to participate – just bring their own tent. They will be given a 10 x 10 space. We are only accepting roughly 10 – 15.
Our Parks and Recreation Department has started a new farmer’s market in downtown Newport News. They are also looking for farmers, and the market runs throughout the summer. It is also free for farmers! They can sign up to participate here: https://form.jotform.com/260324751706151
